The Key to Building AI-Ready Cultures

The topic of AI is developing at such a speed that even the experts do not dare predict how it will go. Whilst boardrooms are still trying to wrap their heads around what this means for the business and operating model, advances in Generative AI have brought the AI experience literally into the hands and on to the desks of each employee in the form of ChatGPT, Co-Pilot or other native solutions.

The duality of these experiences leads to waves of questions and emotions that need answers.

In our experience, there's a lot of work being done across functions to assess the impact on their own value chain, but there is no coherent, long term change plan in place that addresses the hearts and minds of people.

Hearts and minds? As we know, this is where Comms teams can shine. But they also need to manage a dual challenge: making sense of the impact of AI on their own value contribution WHILST helping management get the AI narrative in place and the employees to make sense of what some believe to be the biggest ‘job killer’.

Being the Comms cheerleaders that we are, we see AI as an opportunity to elevate the role of internal communications, and also the natural place for such an emotive and – surprisingly people-centered – topic to land. Because AI is more than just cool tech. It’s about creating a culture that welcomes innovation, learning, and flexibility.

But how? How do we take something as complex and important as AI and ensure that our organisations are culturally ready for it?

A good start is taking some time to read through the latest in our White Paper series, Embracing the Unknown: "How to Build an AI-Ready Culture."  We spoke to business leaders, behavioural scientists, academics and more to get their take on how to land AI in today’s workplace. We have analysed this seismic transformation from a comms and change perspective and distilled our findings into some concrete actions, covering the strategies that Comms teams can use to bring people onboard, and sharing what we’ve been up to ourselves with AI in the COSYN Lab.

Don’t delay, download the White Paper and start embedding AI in your organisation today!
